10 Minute Challenge
This is my entry for the 10 minute challenge on Daily Paintworks. The challenge is to pick one item and then use a timer to paint that object in ten minutes---- 4 times. This was difficult as I usually mess with it too long. I don't have a proper still life set up with one source of light so the light kept moving from the window. Yikes.

Interesting exercise. My problem is I can't decide when to stop!!!!How much is too much? The colors start to blend together in a gray mess if I go too far. My technique is to have two or three colors on my brush. What do you think? And I think wet on wet works best for me.

Here is the my submission for the Daily Paintworks Challenge. The challenge was to take a simple object and three pieces of colored paper and make 4 different compositions. I chose to use an acorn. I found this acorn in Guatemala at Iximche. Iximche means "place of trees" in the Kaqchikel language: this city was the last capital of the Maya-kaqchikels, and in 1524 it became the first capital of the Spanish conquistadors in Guatemala.
