Day 28- Steampunk Revolution- Abney Park. 6x6 Oil on gessobord. Unframed. Okay...this is really out of my comfort zone...portraiture. But I had to try! I so love the costumes and the "get ups" of Steampunk. How imaginative. What fun! Thanks so much to photographer Alan Cruickshank for posting the photo. It took me so long to do this one yesterday...and then was going to work on it again this morning...which never works...I looked at it and thought...I'm not going to mess with it.

Day 27- Fly Away- Lenny Kravitz
Day 27- Fly Away- Lenny Kravitz. 6x6 Oil on gessobord. The challenge this week on Daily Paintworks is Escape The Snow. Yessssssssss....thank you Ann Nemcosky for submitting this challenge. Where do you like to escape to? Well everyone that knows me...knows! Da beach man. I love it. I usually have my feet wet the first hour I'm there! When we lived in Guatemala we would go over to Monterrico. It was only a few hours away. Gotta get a beach fix!
I want to get away....I want to fly away!
Day 26- Lily Love- The Chieftains
Day 26-Lily Love- The Chieftains and The Civil Wars ..6x6 Oil on gessobord. Day 26 of the 30 in 30...Phew almost there! I have missed a few days of the month, but I have produced quite a few more than I would have otherwise:) I love the color of the pond on this one. And lily pads are my favorite!
This song is not my usual, but I listened to it....never heard of this Irish band before....and loved it. I do have a little Irish in me!

Day 25- Little Wing- Jimi Hendrix
Day 25- Little Wing- Jimi Hendrix. 8x8 Oil on gessobord. My contribution to the 30 in 30. Slacked off this weekend and didn't paint a thing. I just love hummingbirds. They flit around and are so busy.
I must have tried 6 different backgrounds until I finally settled on this.

Day 21- I'm Goin' Down- Bruce Springsteen. 8x8 Oil on gessobord. This is my second attempt at the challenge on Daily Paintworks this week. Although, I am seriously so sick of the snow and fog and...cold...and...ugh. I am thinking spring can't come soon enough! But these people looked like they were having such fun on a sunny day. Pic is from the morgue file, credit to Michael Ponton.

Sultans of Swing- Dire Straits remix.
Sultans of Swing remix. 20x20 Oil on Canvas. I have been looking at this painting for awhile and my husband and I both decided the shadows of the swings, although accurate according to the photo...just didn't look correct. Too much of,,,now what shadow goes with what swing? So I decided to do an abstract type of shadow thing. After all, I didn't like the painting as it was.
Here is the original painting.
I think I like the abstract foreground better. What do you think?

Day 14- European Stonechat on Foxglove
Day 14 of the 30 in 30. European Stonechat and Foxglove. 8x8 Oil on Gessobord. Found this little guy on the Photos for Artists Page...Wow...what did I do before I found that page? So many good photographers willing to share for artists! Thanks to Phil Jenkins for this one. Why oh why do I try to paint that fuchsia color? It never is as vibrant as I want it to be.

Day 13- American Pie- Don McLean
Day 13 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days. 6x6 Oil on Gessobord. The challenge this week on Daily Paintworks is to paint some type of pastry and then....eat it! Now, I have to blame Carol Marine of Daily Paintworks for the neglect of my diet this week! This is my family's no.1 requested pie - apple raspberry. It is soooooo good! Recipe is on Martha Stewart.com...yummy.
Day 12- Calf Enjoying The Sunshine
Day 12 of the 30 in 30. Calf Enjoying The Sunshine. 6x6 Oil on gessobord. Wow...I didn't realize what I was biting off here! This one was a bugger. Took me way longer than it should of. I repainted the foreground around 5 times. The shadow was very challenging. Photo was taken by
Carri Sue on the Photos For Artists Facebook Page!

Day 9 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days
Day 9 of the 30 in 30. Baltimore Oriole. 6x6 Oil on gessobord. Photo was taken by Michelle Beck from the Photos for Artists page on Facebook. I still have a lot of paint left over from the challenge this week, so it ended up on this painting also. Very complimentary. I think! Not sure what kind of bird is watching him eat the orange. It must be waiting for his turn!

Day 8 of the 30 in 30
Day 8 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days. Redbud. 6x6 Oil on gessobord. My theme for the challenge is birds, but I had mixed so much paint for the challenge colors yesterday, I tried to think of something that was the same colors. Thus these wonderful redbud tree blooms I found on the Morgue file. Spring is on its way my friends. I hope... Man it had been crappy ans cold here in Nort-da-kota! Brrr.

Day 7 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days
Day 7 of the 30 in 30. Roseate Spoonbill. 8x8 Oil on Gessobord. The photographer for this one is Andy Dorsch. The Daily Paintworks challenge this week is to create a painting using the new Pantone colors for 2016. They are Rose Quartz and Serenity. I decided to use this color palette created by Pantone to fill in the other colors. At first, I thought this one was going to be wiper....ugh, but I kept going and I think it works. Here is the suggested pairings for the two colors. I tried to use a little of each one here.
I am killing two birds with one stone...oops...my theme is BIRDS! haha. This one is for the Daily Paintworks challenge and the 30 in 30!

Day 6 of the 30 in 30 Daily Paintings
Day 6 of the 30 in 30 paintings. Black Necked Stilt. Shore Bird. 8x8 Oil on Gessobord. This is another fabulous photo by Donna Ridgway for the Photos for Artists page. I loved the colors of the water on this one. It really does have stilts; after gurgling them I see that at least half his legs are underwater! Interesting bird.

Day 3- 30 in 30 Jan 2016
Day 3 of the 30 in 30 Daily Paintings. I painted this for day 3 on day 4 as I got a little behind over the holidays. This is a sweet little meadowlark done from a wonderful photo by Donna Ridgway in the Photos for Artists group on Facebook! Thank you Donna for adding a watermark to your photo so I didn't have to search thru all the thousands of photos to make sure I get the photo credit right:) My theme this year is birds or farm animals. Lets see if I can keep to it or throw something random in! I am foregoing the song titles for this challenge as sometimes I just can't decide what to name it!!!
Available for $42 and with free shipping in USA!
