I am channeling my inner Van Gogh on this one! The challenge this week on Daily Paintworks is looking upward. I took this photo in the jungle in Guatemala at a place called Takalik Mayan ruins. It was out in the middle of nowhere in Guate...the electricity went out at 8:00. Luckily I couldn't see what was scurrying around the outside of the little cabin we stayed in! Yikes! Oh the memories!

Day 16 of the 30 in 30. The challenge this week is boats. I have been saving this wonderful photo by Joe Price (thank you!) and today was the day to paint it! I love the sloppy reflections. I really juiced the paint up with oil to get the effect! Was super fun!

I am not a portrait artist...but I will never get any better without at least making an attempt! So here it is. The last portrait I painted looked very flat as I look back. I am hoping this one is better. Have to wait and see what happens when it dries!!!
