Junior's Farm- Paul McCartney & Wings

Junior's Farm- Paul McCartney & Wings.....10x10 Oil on Gessobord. This one started easy and finished under protest. Yikes. I hate it when I don't finish all at once. The paint is just so hard to make cohesive the next day. What is that??? This is the second one in the clothesline mini series. I started this trying to closely match the clothesline in the photo, when I realized the photo didn't look to be possible. What? I decided to simplify it. Here is the result. Enjoy the music here

Hanginaround-Counting Crows

Hanginaround-Counting Crows. 8x8 Oil on Gessobord. I am using my gessobord up fast, as I have decided I LOVE painting on this medium. I think I am hooked! This is the first of three in the series of clotheslines. I love clotheslines, and the swaying of clothes drying in the sun and breeze. They smell so sweet when they have been out for the day. Especially sheets! Day 26 of the 30 in 30 paintings, almost there. I haven't painted 30 but has been almost every day:)
Good tune tooooo!

Get The Party Started- Pink

Get The Party Started- Pink..Ya that's right!!! Get started......and sometimes it just all falls into place. The challenge this week on daily paintworks is, "Paint something in your studio." Well my studio is the cramped extra bedroom in our apartment on the north side of the building. So if it is a dreary day, (which we have lots of) I find it hard to get in there and paint. The light is just so....well non-existent. I need to get some extra lamps......Anywhooo I just went for it today and I think it turned out great!

Seagull-Bad Company

Seagull- Bad Company......6x6 Oil on Gessobord. The third one of my category -seagulls. I love the ocean and the water. Looking and painting this I can almost smell it. Dang......Its cloudy and cold here now and I am missing it! Another one for the 30 paintings in 30 days.
This is a great song toooooo! Get the music here.
Eventually I will run out of songs, and then I will have to get even more creative!!! Haha...I was wondering if anyone bothered to listen to the music, and my question was answered by a sweet gal who sent me a great email recounting a memory because of my art and the song I picked:) Brings a smile even now!!!!

Free Bird-Lynyrd Skynyrd

Free Bird-Lynyrd Skynyrd. This is the second one of the seagull category. Day 20 of the 30 in 30 paintings. I am really lagging on the 30 paintings. Need to get a serious attitude adjustment:) I enjoy going to the beach or the lake and watching these lovely birds. They are so curious!

Get Together- The Youngbloods

Get Together- The Youngbloods. 10x10 Oil on Gessobord. This one came together really fast. I love how it turned out. Really kinda abstract. Also really like this song. It's one that you forget after awhile.....or never knew the name, but really recognizable. Someone has asked me to do a really big seagull painting, so this one is just a test.

Mary Ann- The Merrymen

Mary Ann- The Merrymen.....The challenge this week is paint a parent. Since my parents live in another city I had to resort to photos. This was from a photo taken in 1968 when Mom was 33. She will be 80 next month:) It is a very good likeness, but alas I have not had much experience with portraits, so not perfect. Yes....there is actually a song called Mary Ann. I found two actually, one from Ray Charles and this one from the Merrymen. Love ya Mom!

Play Guitar- John Mellencamp

Play Guitar- John Mellencamp......I have always liked this song. "Forget about all that macho shit and learn how to play guitar" Haha. Good beat too:) This is the third one of the musical category. They all have that sweet vibrant orange going for them. Day 12 of the 30 of 30 done!

Love Me Do-The Beatles

Love Me Do- The Beatles. This is the companion piece for the tambourine yesterday. The song has a wonderful harmonica part......besides who doesn't like the Beatles! I have one more to do of musical instruments in this category then I can move on to another category. Love the subject of these:)

Mr Tambourine Man- The Byrds

Mr Tambourine Man- The Byrds. I have been thinking of doing a series of musical instruments for awhile. My son is very musical; always writing songs and playing his guitar. I can't help thinking of him when I paint these subjects. The ellipses were very challenging. It's not perfect but a good representation! Haha.

TAKIN' IT TO THE STREETS by THE DOOBIE BROTHERS

Takin' it to the Streets- Doobie Brothers. Another one of my categories for the 30 in 30. Streets or corners......This is also the challenge of the week, so two birds:) The cars are so difficult to get believable. But I think I have finally managed something. Let me know what you think!

Hold on Tight- Electric Light Orchestra

Hold on Tight- Electric Light Orchestra....ELO...This is the third painting of hummingbirds......phew...done with that category. I choose 10 subjects for the 30 Paintings in 30 Days. Ten subjects of 3 each. I am behind on my posting for the 30 Paintings but still painting every day possible. How many of us sang along with this song making up words as we went with the French part of it. Haha. Love these little birds.

Tiny Dancer-Elton John

Tiny Dancer-Elton John. Day 2 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days. I am a little behind...but hope to catch up this week. This is the second hummingbird I plan to do of three. My fellow artist Susan and I decided to pick ten categories and paint three subjects of each category. I am hoping it helps me decide more quickly what to paint!!! Sometimes that is the hardest of all.......What the hell am I going to paint! The other one already has a few bids on Daily Paintworks! Click Here to Bid on this one.

Hummingbird-Seals and Crofts

Day 1 of 30 Paintings in thirty days. I have wanted to do a hummingbird for awhile. I just love how they whir and flit around. In Guatemala I had a daily visit from a few different varieties. My little guy would visit my feeder and then sit on the razor wire in the back yard. I could always see him from the kitchen window. Sometimes I thought the wind would just blow him away but he was vigilantly guarding his feeder.
