On the Road Again- Canned Heat

On The Road Again- Canned Heat. 8x8 Oil on Gessobord. We took this picture on the Olympic Peninsula. I loved the bend in the road and how the fog was obscuring the trees in our path. It was a gray day, but it was beautiful just the same.
Canned Heat has always been one of my favorites! Hear it here.

Hold Your Head Up-Argent...8x8 Oil on Canvas Panel. The Challenge this week on Daily Paintworks is to paint a tree. One with a gesture; a spirit, one that holds it's head up. We took this photo along the Pacific Coast where there was a little pullout with a "Hysterical Marker" as my husband calls them. The tree itself is so tall and commanding; yet spindly and old. And best of all...it was by the ocean!
Great song too. Get the music here.

Soak Up The Sun- Sheryl Crow

Soak Up The Sun- Sheryl Crow. I decided to take Kimberly Kelly Santini's challenge to paint Zevon. He was stretching upward so delightfully. I added warm highlights to his face and nose like he was searching for the sun. Hence the title:)

Livin' Thing- Electric Light Orchestra

Livin' Thing- Electric Light Orchestra. I painted this for the challenge this week. Quite a challenge for me to squish this whole vignette on a 6x6, but I do like the results:)
ps...back in the day, I had a set of sheets just like those!

Junior's Farm- Paul McCartney & Wings

Junior's Farm- Paul McCartney & Wings.....10x10 Oil on Gessobord. This one started easy and finished under protest. Yikes. I hate it when I don't finish all at once. The paint is just so hard to make cohesive the next day. What is that??? This is the second one in the clothesline mini series. I started this trying to closely match the clothesline in the photo, when I realized the photo didn't look to be possible. What? I decided to simplify it. Here is the result. Enjoy the music here

Hanginaround-Counting Crows

Hanginaround-Counting Crows. 8x8 Oil on Gessobord. I am using my gessobord up fast, as I have decided I LOVE painting on this medium. I think I am hooked! This is the first of three in the series of clotheslines. I love clotheslines, and the swaying of clothes drying in the sun and breeze. They smell so sweet when they have been out for the day. Especially sheets! Day 26 of the 30 in 30 paintings, almost there. I haven't painted 30 but has been almost every day:)
Good tune tooooo!
